We are seeking a highly motivated Additive Manufacturing Cost Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost analysis, the ability to develop and maintain cost models, identify cost-saving opportunities, and collaborate with project managers. This is a fulltime position working Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 4:30pm. Job Summary The Additive Manufacturing Cost Engineer prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements in support of bid and proposal activities. Responsibilities include customer communications to confirm/clarify requirements, developing preliminary manufacturing plans, modeling processing time, estimating cycle times and set-up times where direct modeling is not practical/possible, reviewing actual program costs, requesting quotes for outside operations, documenting exceptions, and basis of estimates, and drafting narrative proposals. Primary Responsibilities Collaborate with customers to clearly define project scope, customer requirements, and status of quote and/or proposal effort. Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Study proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to identify labor, material, and time requirements for projects. Calculate costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends in the preparation of special reports. Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data. Maintain technical knowledge through attendance at educational workshops and reviewing technical Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineeing, finance, or technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years cost estimating experience in a manufacturing enviornment or the equivalent combination of education, and experience; demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, GD &T symbols, specifications and process requirements; demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes; detail oriented, good communication, organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully in an integrated collaborative team environment are required. Experience with additive and aerospace manufacturing and practical experience in metal aditive manufacturing techniques are highly desired.
