Work Hours/Week Description of Work Unit Colorado State University, Colorado's first and only Land Grant University with an enrollment of about 30,000, is a public, land-grant institution classified as RI (highest research activity) in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university is located in Fort Collins, a dynamic community of 167,000 located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, 65 miles north of Denver. Northern Colorado is known for its natural beauty, economic vitality, and abundant cultural and recreational opportunities. The CSU main campus sits at the eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, one hour north of metro Denver. The Department of Anthropology & Geography houses a diverse faculty that includes cultural anthropologists, archaeologists, biological anthropologists, and geographers whose scholarship spans the breadth of human experience. The discipline of anthropology is concerned with the human condition as well as the structure of the social, environmental, political and economic contexts within which humans operate. Thus, anthropology is both varied and integrative, drawing from geography, biology, humanities, and other social and natural sciences. The anthropology and geography faculty at CSU conduct research from all over the world.

Number of Vacancies Desired Start Date Position End Date Position Summary Instructors are hired (as needed) for a single semester to teach introductory (and occasionally upper-division) in-person courses in archaeology, cultural and biological anthropology. As positions become available, the chair will reach out to applicants directly.

Required Job Qualifications - A Master's degree in anthropology or related field is required.
