Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing, and capturing new business opportunities. This role requires previous experience in the Federal government contracting space, pipeline management, and proposal support. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a proven ability to secure and sustain client relationships within the public sector.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop market strategies and establish a supporting qualified pipeline, create and track schedules, and report progress to Growth Director
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate opportunity and customer information within the enterprise CRM/Pipeline systems.
  • Effectively conveys our message in both written and verbal business development discussions.
  • Develop external relationships with current and future government customers and industry partners through strategic outreach and communication plans.
  • Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations; regularly attend client meetings, trade shows, conferences, etc.
  • Build strong relationships with government clients, teaming partners, and other stakeholders to influence opportunity requirements and positioning.
  • Assist in the development of high-quality proposals, including writing, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with RFP requirements.
  • Liaison with current Contracting Officers; assist with communication flow, resolve issues, identify needs and translate Government goals.
Job Requirements
  • Up to 20% Travel
  • 5+ years proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles
  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting processes, including RFPs, RFQs, IDIQ & BPA contracts, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for tracking leads and managing pipelines.
  • Strong command of productivity tools like Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Basic understanding of market research and data analysis tools.
 
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or a related field
