Job Summary: As a Cemetery Groundskeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the serene and respectful environment of the cemetery grounds. Your responsibilities will include performing various tasks to ensure the cemetery is clean, well-kept, and a place of comfort for visitors and families.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Landscape Maintenance: Regularly mow, trim, and edge the grass, ensuring that the cemetery grounds are aesthetically pleasing and free of overgrowth.
• Grave Care: Dig and fill graves as needed, ensuring they are prepared in accordance with established procedures and in a compassionate manner.
• Floral Arrangement: Arrange and maintain floral displays, wreaths, and other memorial decorations, ensuring they are displayed respectfully and replaced as necessary.
• Headstone Maintenance: Clean and repair headstones and grave markers to preserve their integrity and readability.
• Customer Service: Interact courteously with visitors, providing directions, information, and assistance when needed, and offering empathy and support to grieving families.
• Washing and cleaning company vehicles
• Facility maintenance

Requirements and Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, operating grounds maintenance equipment, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Attention to Detail: Possess a keen eye for detail to ensure the cemetery grounds are immaculate and that headstones and markers are properly maintained.
• Compassion and Sensitivity: Display empathy and understanding when dealing with grieving families and visitors, maintaining a respectful and compassionate demeanor at all times.
• Reliability: Punctuality and dependability are essential, as the role requires adherence to a set schedule to ensure the cemetery's ongoing upkeep.
• Basic Landscaping Knowledge: Familiarity with landscaping equipment and techniques, including mowing, trimming, and planting, is preferred.
• Driver's License Required
• Knowledge of operating an excavator is required
• Basic carpentry experience preferred
• Working independently and with others is required on a daily basis
