Job Description

Are you interested in a career where you have the power to influence outcomes and make a difference in the future - yours, your clients’, and the company’s? When you join FM as a Consultant Engineer, you have the ability to bring your engineering learning to life and help clients neutralize potential disaster—saving property, businesses and lives!

We will share FM's nearly two centuries of knowledge and experience with you. We will provide you with opportunities to work hands on with some of the world’s most influential organizations, helping them understand risk and protect their assets. We will provide the resources for you to build a career with a Fortune 500 Company that puts employees first. To do so, we rely on a dynamic, culturally diverse group of employees, working in more than 100 countries, in a variety of exciting roles.

If you enjoy variety, we will put your time-management and organization skills to use handling field visits, office work, and projects for large commercial clients. We will provide you with extensive training to understand our business, build relationships with mentors, and learn FM's best-in-class industry standards. In this role, you will work independently with a lifeline of 200 years of support and experience.

Initially, your assignments are structured for you to learn. You will gradually begin assessing risks at larger commercial properties. You will visit client facilities and perform evaluations that will help our clients reduce risks in their business and at their properties.

You will perform “hands-on” site assessments of physical properties including roofs and conduct evaluations which include, but are not limited to, site water supplies, dust hazards, chemical storage, and rack storage arrangements of client products.

Consultant Engineers are encouraged to follow FM Engineering Standards and communicate recommendations and/or engineering solutions to ensure client understanding. Strong communication, listening and relationship building skills are a must.

You should be willing to operate from a home office and will travel to clients' facilities daily; overnight travel is expected approximately 30% of the time. You must also be willing to travel to Natural Catastrophe sites as needed.

Our Consultant Engineers are offered a wide range of benefits including career long learning opportunities, tuition reimbursement, company car, 401 (k), pension, flexible schedules, ability to work from home, rich health and well-being programs, generous time off allowances, volunteer days and so much more!
