Overview

Free Market Health (the “Company”) is hiring a full-time Contract Manager to draft, negotiate, and manage contracting activities with health insurance companies (payers), pharmacy benefit management companies (PBMs) and specialty pharmacies. 

 

Specifics

The Contract Manager will ensure efficiency in contracting process while maintaining compliance with government laws and regulations, as well as the Company’s policies and standards. You will initiate negotiations, handle complex drafting, approvals and ongoing monitoring of the Company’s contractual agreements to maximize business relationships and opportunities. This position is highly collaborative and will work with our legal, commercial and business development teams.

 

Education & Licensure:  Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:  Minimum of five years’ experience related to health care contracting required. Familiarity with reimbursement and payment methodologies, and health care regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong familiarity with MS Office Suite. Highly collaborative and ability to influence. Must meet tight timelines in fast-paced environment. Pharmacy experience is a plus.

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Under general supervision, review contract documents to ensure adherence to Company’s policies and risk tolerance
• Negotiate terms and conditions, prepare contractual agreements, draft amendments and statements of work under master services agreements to facilitate achieving the Company’s revenue goals and targets.
• Ensure compliance with contracting standards, reimbursement standards, and use of model contract language.
• Maintain Company’s contract management database
• Express a thorough understanding of Free Market Health’s products and services.
• Develop strategic work relationships.
• Function independently, multi-task, prioritize workload effectively, and manage time efficiently.
• Use sound judgment, appropriate decision-making, resourcefulness, and an aptitude toward solving problems.
• Organize work tasks, assuring confidentiality and a quality work product, with attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a commitment to adaptability and continuous improvement.
• Build trust with internal and external customers.
• Work with other teams to keep a current list of contracted entities and plans associated within.
