Tradeco Construction is currently seeking a Controller for our client Veracity Electric. This position will be based in either Kansas City, KS or Jonesboro, AR, with the capacity to be a remote position. The preferred candidate will be a direct employee of Veracity Electric, as this is a direct hire position. This position reports directly to the Manager and is a Tier 1 leadership position, meaning the candidate will be directly involved in strategic decision-making with other Tier 1 leaders. The preferred candidate will provide financial leadership, ensure compliance, maintain accurate reporting, and drive strategic financial planning and efficiencies across the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including tax compliance and internal controls.
  • Develop and manage budgets, create financial forecasts, and analyze variances to support strategic planning.
  • Monitor and optimize cash flow to maintain healthy liquidity for operations and growth.
  • Oversee payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Lead month-end and year-end financial closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Provide financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies across business operations and initiatives.

​​Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related role, with supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Trimble products, specifically Spectrum.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, financial modeling, and reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills for effectively conveying financial insights and recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in a high-growth environment and with process improvement initiatives is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Ability to prepare and review complex financial statements accurately and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tax laws, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in managing audits and maintaining internal controls to minimize risks.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
  • Effective in building a collaborative team environment that aligns with company goals and values.
  • Advanced analytical abilities to identify financial trends, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for addressing complex financial challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to achieve strategic alignment.
