\nPurpose:\n

The CRNA provides anesthetic care in cooperation with the supervising physician, ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgery.

\nResponsibilities:\n

\n
• Follow established policies and regulatory standards
\n
• Administer anesthesia and related care in pre-anesthetic, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia phases
\n
• Participate in Quality Improvement processes
\n
• Teach and evaluate newly-hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs
\n
• Manage controlled substances per policy and guidelines
\n

\n

Qualifications:\n

\n
• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
\n
• Knowledge of controlled substance policies
\n
• Master’s degree preferred
\n

\nLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:\n

\n
• Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
\n
• Board Certified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
\n
• CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications as required
\n
• Act 33 and Act 34 clearances with renewal
\n
