The role you’ll contribute:

\n \n\n \n

Under the direction of the Radiologist and a Preceptor, performs CT radiologic procedures. Will require independent judgment and initiative to perform CT procedures and appropriate protocols for diagnosis; to include Interventional Radiology procedures with CT guidance. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Technologist may still be required to assist in X-ray in addition to CT to meet department needs. Obtain ARRT(CT) credential within 12 months of starting this role and then transition to the appropriate CT Tech job description/role.

Work under the supervision of a credentialed CT or experienced CT technologist registered in another primary modality, to obtain the necessary experience to perform the exams required for ARRT CT registry. May be required to work shifts at freestanding ER with remote support of CT technologist.

• Rotates on-call status.
\n \n
• Contacts vendor service engineer for assistance when system problem arises.
\n \n
• Performs other related duties as required and deemed necessary per Supervisor to include general x-ray and surgical x-ray imaging as needed.
\n \n
• Follows AdventHealth service standards
\n \n
• Maintains ethical relationships and cooperates with all personnel in proper conduct of department
\n \n
• Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
\n \n
• Transfers and positions patients. Lifting of patients is necessary at times.
\n \n
• Initiates and assists in Code Blue procedures if called.
\n \n
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards in compliance with Radimetrics.
\n \n
• Operates computer by typing in patient information needed for the examination and proper protocols for the procedure.
\n \n
• Verify and transmit each exam to the PACs System; addressing any issues to ensure an accurate medical record of images and results.
\n \n
• Assists with re-stocking and re-ordering of supplies as needed.
\n \n
• Maintains record of each patient examination by completing documentation for examination procedure and protocol used: medical symptoms, history, contraindications. This includes amount of contrast injected (if any), what type of contrast, and clinical information in the patient’s medical record.
\n \n
• Attends scheduled department meetings and is accountable for obtaining information from missed meetings.
\n \n
• Operates EMR proficiently, trouble shoots problems with orders and makes corrections within scope of user level.
\n \n
• Verify the physician order signature for the CT exam before beginning the test.
\n \n
• Sets up and maintains all physiological monitoring equipment and supplies: pulse oximeter, contrast power injector, cardiac, peripheral, and respiratory gaiter, and all other equipment necessary to complete procedure.

• Associate’s degree or Graduate of a Technical School
\n \n
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (RT)
\n \n
• Florida State Licensure CRT
\n \n
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert
\n \n\n \n\n
