Job Title: Data Entry Technician
Location: Houston, TX
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for shipping and receiving of scientific samples
· Log-in samples into internal database with sample information; verify sample information when needed
· Sample management through both online system and physical storage system
· Communicate with technical team and clients to ensure accuracy of sample information received if needed
· Prepare sampling kit including ordering supplies, labelling, generating shipping labels, etc.
· Solving any shipping issues by contacting shipping carriers and shippers
· Perform administrative lab tasks when needed, such as taking photos of samples, sorting inventories, etc.
· Keep track of lab supplies and maintain enough supplies
· Maintains good documentation practices by keeping all the shipping contacts, carrier information, etc.
· Acts in such a way that safety awareness & accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks
· Ad-hoc duties as required such as sample preparation according to protocol
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in business administration , accounting , library science, information study , or science related such as chemistry, geology
- Strong sense of accountability and attention to details
- Previous experiences with data entry such as book-keeping, document or mortgage processing preferred
- Previous laboratory experience is a plus but not necessary
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, ~8:30am - ~5:30pm with a 30-60 min lunch break. Occasional overtime possible.
