Director Inpatient Oncology
Chicago , IL Our client is a nationally ranked academic medical center and teaching hospital located in downtown Chicago , Illinois . The hospital provides a total of 900 inpatient beds and encompasses more than 3 million square feet of medical building space. Northwestern Memorial Hospital is ranked as the sixth best hospital in the United States, ranked number one in the Chicago metro area, and ranked number one in the state of Illinois according to the 2016 U.S. News & World Report America's Best Hospitals "Honor Roll" report. Northwestern Memorial is also ranked among the best in the nation (all in the Top 20) in 13 specialties including: neurology and neurosurgery; orthopaedics; diabetes and endocrinology; urology; digestive disorders (gastroenterology); gynecology; geriatrics; heart (cardiology) and cardiac surgery; pulmonology; cancer (oncology); nephrology (kidney disorders); ear, nose and throat (otolaryngology); and as high-performing in rheumatology and ophthalmology. They have an immediate need for a Director for their World Class Oncology department. The position will oversee 100+ beds, 3 floors and have 3 managers reporting to it! It is also one of only 47 NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States ! Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with the entire interdisciplinary team. Develops and engages team towards a shared vision. Creates an environment which recognizes and values differences among team members. Engages team in shared decision-making. Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment. Maintains current knowledge of industry trends, patient care delivery systems and innovations. Serves as change agent when patient care work/workflow is redesigned. Leads innovative, quality improvement initiatives and achieves defined outcomes. Leadership, Demonstrates value of lifelong learning. Engages in leadership development, mentorship, and succession planning. Demonstrates reflective leadership and an understanding that all leadership begins from within s teams effectively through organizational change. Professionalism, Establishes own development plan and tracks progress towards goals. Maintains active membership in professional organization and encourages others. Models the image of nursing within the profession, organization, and community.Required:
· Masters of Science Degree in Nursing or related field.
· Relevant leadership experience with progressive responsibilities in management/administration.
· Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Illinois or eligible
