Description OVERVIEW Cadrex is searching for a Director of Strategic Sourcing who is responsible for leading and executing the company's sourcing and procurement strategy to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation across a manufacturing organization. This role focuses on building long-term supplier relationships, optimizing the supply base, and ensuring alignment with company objectives for cost, quality, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure continuity of supply
- Lead sourcing initiatives including supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration and continuous improvement
- Identify and assess potential suppliers, evaluate capabilities, and onboard new suppliers as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance) to align sourcing strategies with company goals
- Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing, and supply risks to inform sourcing decisions
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and track sourcing savings
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards
- Develop and maintain KPIs to measure supplier performance and sourcing effectiveness
- Manage and mentor a team of sourcing and procurement professionals
Requirements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven leadership and people management experience
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills
- Experience with global sourcing and supplier management
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and sourcing tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or CSCP preferred
EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
LOCATION SCHEDULE PHYSICAL DEMANDS - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
