An industry-leader in the food and beverage manufacturing space is seeking a talented individual to join their team as an EHS Manager at one of their key facilities. This role involves developing, organizing, and maintaining safety, environmental, and security programs and training. The goal is to create a safety culture that minimizes accidents and injuries. The EHS Manager will engage employees and work with management to ensure efficiency and well-being, while complying with all regulations and company policies.

The ideal Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager candidate will have the following skill set:

• High School diploma required; Associates degree required or Bachelor's degree preferred in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent experience and education.
• Minimum of two (2) years EHS management experience in manufacturing, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
• Technical competencies in NIOSH, NY-OSHA, NFPA, NEC, Confined Space, LOTO, II&PP, Chemical/Physical hazards, Pesticides, Contractor Rules, Agricultural Rules, Heat Stress.
• Knowledge of safety codes, NY-OSHA, Fed OSHA, Local Ordinances, Safety Best Practices, Emergency Response, First Aid, Industrial trucks/lifts, Training, OSHA site inspections, and other regulatory agencies.
• Understanding of NFPA 13 and property exposure.
• 501 certifications through OSHA preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• High analytical aptitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and team-based skills.
• Ability to work across departments and build relationships to drive continuous improvement.
• Strong project management capability and experience

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will have the following responsibilities:

• Act as the primary authority in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and plant security.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for safety issues, including PPEs, lockout/tag out, confined space, etc.
• Develop and maintain site security policies and resources, including investigations when required.
• Execute and support corporate safety directives.
• Review reports from supervisory and management personnel to determine solutions and prevent future accidents and incidents.
• Ensure safety-related policies and procedures are followed by employees and enforced by management.
• Notify supervisor and HR Manager of policy or procedure violations to determine corrective discipline.
• Train and advise management and employees on safety issues to prevent accidents.
• Communicate safety-related issues through bulletins, newsletters, memos, and meetings.
• Stay updated on current safety issues through literature and relevant seminars and meetings.
• Collaborate with operations to improve efficiencies and health and safety costs.
• Follow up on work restrictions.
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including conducting performance appraisals.
• Maintain employee work schedules, including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off.
• Organize required training in all departments to increase safety awareness and adherence.
