The Exercise Science Program Coordinator will provide leadership and oversight for the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the new Exercise Science Program, scheduled to launch in Fall 2025 within the Frances M. Maguire College of Nursing and Health Professions. This position requires a dynamic and innovative individual committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. This position reports directly to the Dean and works collaboratively with Associate Dean and each other to ensure quality and consistency in the Exercise Science program. This is a full-time, 11-month faculty position, commencing in Spring 2025, with responsibilities for both administrative leadership and academic teaching. Other responsibilities include student admission and advising, and participation in departmental, university, and professional activities. Rank, tenure-track eligibility, and salary will be determined based on education and teaching experience.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure alignment with relevant professional standards and guidelines.

• Teach courses within the exercise science curriculum, contributing to a high-quality academic experience.

• Advise and mentor students on academic and career pathways.
• Develop and maintain practicum opportunities for students.
• Coordinate program assessment and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Admissions and engage external stakeholders to promote the Exercise Science Program and recruit students through outreach, partnerships, and professional engagement.
• Serve on institutional committees and participate in faculty governance.
• Foster a culture of research and scholarly activity among faculty and students
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A doctoral degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred; ABD will be considered.
• Has teaching experience in higher education and has demonstrated excellence in teaching in Exercise Science or related program.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and external partners.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Online teaching experience.
• Previous experience in program administration or leadership in an academic setting.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
• A record of scholarly activity, including research and publications, in the field of Exercise Science or a related discipline.
• Experience with accreditation processes (e.g., CAAHEP, NSCA-ERP) and a deep understanding of professional standards in Exercise Science.
• Current certifications from relevant professional organizations (e.g., ACSM, NSCA, CHSE, etc.).
• Proficiency in using academic software and technology platforms.
