Job Summary:

Yancey Roofing and Waterproofing is seeking a skilled and reliable Roofer to join our construction and maintenance team. The Roofer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the roofs of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in various roofing systems, able to work in all weather conditions, and committed to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and replace roofing systems including shingles, tiles, metal, and flat roofs (e.g., EPDM, TPO, PVC).
• Inspect roof systems to determine the best repair options or materials needed.
• Remove old or damaged roofing materials.
• Apply waterproofing materials such as sealants or membranes.
• Measure and cut materials to fit specific roofs.
• Ensure roofing jobs are completed safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals such as carpenters and contractors.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Roofer or similar role.
• Familiarity with various roofing materials and techniques.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of roofing equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with both residential and commercial roofing.

Work Conditions:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
• Use of ladders, scaffolding, and safety harnesses.
