Every day, more architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and owners specify Wells precast building components for their construction needs and with this continued success, we are looking to hire a motivated self-starting Facility Maintenance to join our team. This person assists the Quality Control team with performing quality inspections and ensuring that the standard of quality is maintained in the finished product. The right candidate must be a problem-solver, have strong communication skills, and also be willing and ready to learn.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Plant Maintenance provides maintenance throughout the Production facility as well as doing the required inspections of equipment in the production facility. This position also requires the appropriate license to operate the Boiler systems in the Production facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems

  • Check functionality of safety systems

  • Set up and install appliances and equipment

  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues

  • Duties include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air and hydraulic systems, problem diagnosis, and repair procedures

  • Have knowledge of and have the appropriate license to operate boiler systems or be willing to obtain a boiler operator license within 1 year

  • Operate/inspect overhead crane-ways

  • Operate/inspect forklifts.

  • Inspection of travel lifts (Drotts)

  • Performs duties indoors and outdoors

  • Follow company safety policies and procedures

  • Accountable to practice BSP program and housekeeping in their assigned area

  • Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures

  • Maintain maintenance/inspection records and assist in scheduling maintenance

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Education, training in General Maintenance, welding, and electrical

  • Boiler experience preferred

  • Must be motivated and self-driven to complete a task

  • Ability to work with others to get the project completed efficiently

  • Must have interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers

  • Know and understand safety procedures

  • Must be able to solve problems quickly and efficiently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment

  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print

  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others

  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment

  • Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed

  • Possession of valid driver's license, and the ability to operate a motor vehicle

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Moderate to high risk of exposure to unusual elements.

  • Moderate to high risk of safety precautions.

  • Moderate to high exposure to production environment.

  • Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
