Job Description Mechanical Engineer - Boston, MA Our client is an Engineering Design and Commissioning Company specializing in MEP critical facilities design. They offer design, commissioning, consulting, and management expertise in the Critical Facilities Space, focusing on reliability, energy efficiency, sustainable design, and LEED accreditation for Enterprise, Colocation, and Hyperscale Companies. The ideal candidate will have experience designing commercial HVAC mechanical systems for cooling mission-critical data center computer rooms. Skills should include heating and cooling load calculations, ductwork and piping sizing, HVAC equipment selection, energy modeling, and other engineering calculations. Responsibilities: Create designs and plans, gather specifications, and execute assignments in multidisciplinary mechanical engineering design for complex facility projects. Develop conceptual designs based on client meetings. Oversee the commissioning process as needed. Collaborate with the Business Development Team to respond to RFPs. Represent the company in project meetings. Qualifications: 3-7 years of experience designing data center cooling systems. PE or EIT certification is a plus. LEED accreditation is a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience with Mechanical Systems such as HVAC, CFD, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC/CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc. Equipment sizing and calculations expertise. Experience reviewing work in REVIT; familiarity with Trane Trace or IES VE Energy Modeling software is a plus. Knowledge of designing building systems for mission-critical projects or healthcare/hospital environments. Effective communication skills—email, phone, face-to-face. Ability to work independently. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project).
