Founding Cloud Engineer | Cutting-Edge Drug Discovery

Metric Bio has partnered with a seed stage start-up with already exceptional ARR to hire a founding engineer to help scale our MLOps and cloud infrastructure for next-gen computational biology.

This is an opportunity to shape the core infrastructure of a high-impact AI-driven drug discovery platform, working directly with the founding team to design, build, and scale mission-critical tooling.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and optimize MLOps pipelines to support large-scale biological model training and inference
• Scale and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, HPC, Kubernetes, and serverless computing) for high-performance drug discovery
• Own and enhance CI/CD workflows for automated model fine-tuning and deployment
• Build APIs and web interfaces to make powerful ML tools accessible to researchers
• Work hands-on with customers , iterating based on real-world needs

What We’re Looking For

• Expertise in AWS & DevOps (DynamoDB, EC2, S3, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong MLOps skills (CUDA, Conda, TensorFlow, PyTorch, model deployment)
• Experience scaling batch and real-time HPC workloads
• Frontend development skills ( React, Vercel )
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment

Bonus Points

• Experience with computational biology , structural modeling, or cheminformatics
• Understanding of foundation models (LLMs, Diffusion) in the biological domain
• Passion for AI-driven scientific breakthroughs

Location: SF Bay Area (or willingness to relocate)
