Job Description
The Henry Ford Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, in conjunction with HF Wyandotte Hospital, are seeking a board eligible/certified Gastroenterologist. Henry Ford Medical Group is one of the nation's largest group practices with 1,900 physicians and researchers in more than 40 specialties. The Division of Gastroenterology currently employs 39 Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists, making us the largest subspecialty GI practice in Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. We are supported by 6 APPs, a full time clinical psychologist, a dietician, and 241 support staff. We have several subspecialty groups, including liver transplantation, IBD, motility, interventional GI, and hepatology. The Division provides outpatient clinic and endoscopy services at Henry Ford Hospital and 7 suburban satellites as well as inpatient consultative services at Henry Ford Hospital and Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. We are looking to build a similar group at Wyandotte, with the support of and in partnership with Wyandotte executive leadership. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology supports a robust training program which includes 15 GI fellows, one of which trains additionally in transplant hepatology as well as 1 additional interventional fellow for a total of 16 fellows.

- Mix of outpatient and inpatient endoscopy
- Outpatient endoscopy will ramp up quickly, buoyed immediately by vibrant HFMG open access processes
- Access to cutting edge and top-of-the-line endoscopes, equipment, and software (including Provation and EPIC)
- Membership in large and academic Gastroenterology/Hepatology division
- Partners with expertise in Hepatology, IBD, Motility, and Advanced Endoscopy
- Built-in access to ancillary GI services, including breath testing, capsule endoscopy, fibroscan, and motility studies
- Ability to virtually attend academic lecture series for CME/MOC
- Modern clinic space within main hospital
- Support team will consist of clinic MA, scheduling support, and APP to support inpatient and outpatient patient care
- Call responsibilities
- Cover hospital a maximum of every 4th weekend
- Cover a maximum of 7 weeknights/month
- Additional moonlighting available
- Must have completed an ACGME/AOA approved Internal Medicine residency program.
- Must have completed or are currently completing an ACGME/AOA approved Gastroenterology fellowship program.
