Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Concrete Finisher .

Starting Pay: $17.00/hr
Scheduled Shift: M-F 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Overview:

Responsible for performing all functions necessary to produce precast concrete products efficiently and safely under supervision. Work in a team environment with a positive attitude to accomplish the required tasks, and the ability to adapt to change.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and finish pieces of concrete pipe to match texture of the precast concrete product. and other related products in the yard.
• Lifts and carries materials and equipment throughout work areas using appropriate equipment.
• Be able to follow instruction s or repair steps according to QC processes.
• Finish product in a quality manner free of cracks and imperfections
• Maintains neat and orderly work areas.
• Ensuring tools and work areas are clean during the day and at the end of each shift.
• Other general duties as required to assist with production of pipes and box culverts.

Required Education and experience :

• Concrete finishing experience preferred, not required. We will train.
• 1-year of tack welding experience preferred, not required.
• 1-year of using a jackhammer preferred, not required.
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Basic knowledge of concrete finishing tools and power tools.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
• Able to work in weather conditions

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 75 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 4 :30 p.m. OT will be required as needed. This position regularly requires weekend work.
