Join Our Team at Heart of Florida Landfill – Lube Technician
📍 Location: Lake Panasoffkee, FL
🕐 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per week + occasional Saturdays
💰 Pay: $22–$26 DOE

Are you looking for a hands-on role with career growth opportunities in a stable, year-round industry? Waste Connections is hiring a Lube Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment. This position offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and the chance to work outdoors while learning advanced skills like HDPE pipe fusion, pneumatic pump maintenance, and gas system monitoring .

Monday through Friday 40 to 50 hours a week and some Saturday work.

Pay $22-$26 DOE

Responsibilities include:

• Perform routine system inspections and repairs on the landfill.
• Work with Lead Landfill Gas Technician to ensure compliance.
• Maintain relationships with landfill employees as well as consultants and vendors.
• Using gas analyzer to monitor gas wells and probes.
• Performing maintenance on pneumatic pumps, including the removal of pumps in wells, inspections, and repairs.
• Monitoring the amount of liquid in gas wells.
• HDPE pipe fusion.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to follow established procedures with minimal amount of direct supervision.
• Ability to be coachable and learn how to navigate the landfill in a safe manner.
• Work outdoors for most of the day.
• Maintain a good attitude and a hard work ethic.
• Be willing to perform a variety of tasks on any given day.
• Provide on-call response to gas collection system.
• Experience operating hand and power tools.
• Ability to handle objects up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to collect data, interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
