Shabby Fabrics is a leading online retailer in the quilting industry, proudly based in beautiful Post Falls, Idaho. Since 2005, we have been dedicated to innovative design, original art, and cutting-edge technology to bring high-quality quilting products to customers worldwide. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a full-time Laser Technician/Gerber Cutter Operator to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

This dual-role position involves operating cutting-edge fabric cutting equipment, including laser cutting machines and automated Gerber cutting machines. The ideal candidate will ensure fabric is measured, cut, sorted, and prepared for production accurately and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is for the evening shift Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upload and manipulate digital files for cutting.
• Set up and operate automated cutting machines, including Gerber and laser cutting systems.
• Ensure correct fabric selection and inspect for shade variations and defects before cutting.
• Spread and cut fabric efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Sort, label, and tag cut fabric pieces for distribution.
• Assist with order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving as needed.
• Maintain adherence to quality standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with fabric cutting, preferably in quilting, upholstery, or textile manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret production tickets and cutting instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Comfortable working with computer-controlled machinery.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive pulling, pinching, and gripping with both hands.
• Must distinguish between colors and fabric patterns.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug scree.
• Enjoys working with your hands.
