Company Description
Whitestone International is a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup that imports and dropships full-container-load products from overseas, selling directly to multi-billion dollar/Fortune 500 companies. Our unique model relies on manufacturing private label brands for leading janitorial, medical and food service distributors.
Role Description
The Logistics Coordinator will oversee full-cycle logistics operations, including overseas container bookings, ocean freight tracking, customs coordination, and U.S. trucking arrangements. The role requires someone experienced, proactive, and deeply connected in the logistics industry—especially someone who can negotiate competitive freight rates and manage multiple moving parts under time pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Book container shipments from overseas suppliers (primarily in China).
• Track ocean freight and communicate accurate ETAs to U.S. customers.
• Coordinate with customs brokers for ISF filing and customs clearance (not filing directly).
• Negotiate international freight and domestic trucking rates with forwarders and carriers.
• Arrange drayage and final-mile delivery to distributor warehouses.
• Maintain ongoing communication with logistics providers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain an internal system to track inventory in transit.
• Identify and onboard new freight partners as needed to support growth and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
• Solid understanding of customs processes, ISF, and domestic drayage operations.
• Proven ability to negotiate freight and transportation rates.
• Strong industry network and ability to maintain vendor relationships.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms is a plus.
