Summary: The primary role of the Modern Worship Intern is to provide support to worship staff, serving in all modern worship ministries, while getting hands-on work experience and coaching to lead worship in a modern setting. This internship will last 15 weeks in the fall and 15 weeks in the spring, starting in September and following the academic calendar. Qualified Candidates: Any full-time student enrolled in higher education, during the semester in question, who has the musical skill needed to serve in our ministries, at the discretion of fine arts staff. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possess a love of Christ as Savior Possess the ability to effectively lead a congregation in worship while singing Proficient in either keys or guitar in a worship setting Strong leadership, learning, and listening skills Desire to grow spiritually and as a musician Accountability: The Modern Worship Intern will be under the supervision and mentorship of the Modern Worship Arts Director, receiving regular coaching and feedback. Essential Responsibilities: Assist the Modern Worship Arts Director in leading worship every Sunday morning in some capacity, whether its leading, in tech, or in another supporting role. Teach and coach musicians in the youth band during the fall and spring semesters (Wednesdays 5-7). Select and arrange music for Vine worship service on Sunday mornings and other services or events, as needed. Coordinate closely with pastoral leadership on incorporating liturgical elements into the Vine worship services. Participate in the church worship planning and staff meetings. Assist the Modern Worship Arts Director in the design and execution of the Vine worship service experience, together with the Senior and Associate Pastor(s). This includes but is not limited to: choreographing the flow of the worship services, lighting and stage design, creative use of video production, pre-worship and post-worship video and music, coordinating with technical staff and volunteers to execute the technical elements during the service, schedule and rehearse musicians for the Vine worship service. Train and rehearse youth worship leaders for youth meetings and activities. Assist with organizing and rehearsing the Vine Easter Choir. Serve in Holy Week services, including planning and executing the Sunrise Service. Coordinate and manage administrative functions of the Vine worship services: Help maintain schedule of each Vine service in Planning Center. Help manage song content in ProPresenter. Assist in set up and teardown of all stage equipment. Compensation: The Modern Worship Intern will receive a gross sum of $8,040 for the semester with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
