Job Description

Join to apply for the Peer Support Specialist role at Nebraska Medicine . Shift and Schedule Part time, .4 FTE (16 hours a week) Monday‑Friday flexible: 8am‑4:30pm or 11am–7:30pm Rotating weekends Contribute lived experience, perspective, knowledge, and skills to the rehabilitative and recovery process. Responsible for facilitating effective system navigation, empowerment, hope, resiliency, voice, and choice. Provide person/family‑centered service that promotes self‑directed recovery and supports self‑advocacy and empowerment through interventions that emphasize safety, self‑worth, growth, connection to community, planning, and social supports. Required Qualifications High school education or equivalent. Certificate of successful completion of Nebraska approved Peer Support Core Curriculum Training. Self‑identifies as having lived experience as an individual with a mental health/substance use disorder or as a parent/caregiver to a child with such a disorder. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated successful full or part time, paid or voluntary work experience within the past 12 months. Post‑secondary education. Certified Peer Support Wellness Specialist (CPSWS) or Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) per Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
