Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Duties Assist in the planning, developing, implementing and monitoring of the installation security program. Review regulations or policies to determine the impact of policy change. Provide technical advisory services to the Installation Commander on specialized shipping, handling, and storage requirements of sensitive materials. Analyze the overall mission and functions of the Installation and recommend comprehensive material security controls to protect the Installation. Perform research in the procurement of physical security related devices, equipment and supplies. Perform physical security inspections for vulnerability, threat, water systems, food, and risk management. Prepare updates and briefings for senior Installation leaders and senior-level executives regarding the Security Program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. citizen Tour of Duty: Flexible Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access Appointment is subject to favorable suitability or fitness determination; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Bargaining Unit Status: No Pre-Employment Physical: Not Required Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Program: Requires DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC). Qualifications To qualify, your resume must support: Education: Graduate education or equivalent doctoral degree, or relevant graduate coursework with supporting transcripts. Specialized Experience: One year at least, developing security systems, evaluating security devices, providing guidance on security programs, or equivalent experience. Combination of education and experience may be used to meet qualifications. Work Environment Primarily sedentary with some walking and standing during inspections and training. No specialized safety equipment required; safety clothing and equipment worn as directed. Education Must provide transcripts or documentation supporting educational claims. Unofficial transcripts acceptable initially. Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
