Bassett Medical Center is a regional trauma center located in Cooperstown, New York. It is a 180-bed, acute care inpatient teaching hospital that also offers 24-hour emergency and trauma care, critical care, comprehensive cancer and heart care, dialysis, and most medical and surgical specialties. Job Description & Responsibilities

• Join an established group of 2 Surgeons and 1 Advanced Practice Clinician.
• Responsibilities include clinic where you will see new and established patients, post-op visits, telemedicine, floor management of post-op patients, and first assisting in the OR.
• No Neurosurgery call – General Surgical call is optional.
• No current residents on Neurosurgery team - Bassett Medical Center has a strong relationship with the University of Rochester Medical Center and Columbia University for teaching, education, and resident involvement.
• Previous surgical experience preferred but not essential.
• Salary Range: $122,086 - $150,000. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief in the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, starting with competitive base pay which includes recognition for your experience, education, training and licensure. On-call is not a requirement; however, if you decide to opt-in, there is potential for additional compensation.
• Sign-on Bonus up to $50,000.
• Hours include, but are not limited to: Clinic hours typically run from 8:00-4:30, and OR days are variable with two-to-three occurrences per week.

Job Qualifications

• National Certification as a Physician Assistant.
• NYS Licensure.
• BLS Certification Required.
• DEA Required.
