Robert Half is looking for an experienced and detail-focused Plant Controller to lead the accounting operations for a manufacturing company in Lancaster, Wisconsin. This position plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost accounting, budgeting, and payroll processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard cost accounting and margin analysis.
• Lead month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Supervise payroll operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Develop and implement budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain general accounting functions, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and support operational goals.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators related to plant financial performance.
• Ensure adherence to financial standards, policies, and controls within the manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in standard cost accounting and margin analysis.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general accounting principles.
• Experience in payroll management and familiarity with relevant regulations.
• Proven ability to develop budgets and forecasts for manufacturing operations.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
