THE BOROUGH OF KANE IS SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION OF FULL-TIME
POLICE OFFICER & CHIEF OF POLICE We are looking for a dedicated Police Officer to join our team to serve and protect members of the public and their properties, prevent crime and improve citizens' quality of life. The Kane Borough Police Department operates 24/7/365 and is integral to our active, growing community.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
* United States Citizen
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
* Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
* Possess current Act 120 certification
* Successfully pass a background check
* Pass a basic knowledge test
* Pass a basic physical & fitness test

Chief of Police - Kane Borough, McKean County, PA Kane Borough, located in scenic McKean County, Pennsylvania, is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Chief of Police. Nestled on the Allegheny Plateau and surrounded by hundreds of thousands of forested acres, Kane Borough offers residents and visitors year-round opportunities for hiking, biking, skiing, and boating.
The Chief of Police will be responsible for:
* Providing leadership and direction to the Police Department
* Developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures
* Directing, coordinating, and supervising daily operations
* Serving as the department's representative to Borough officials and the community The Chief of Police reports directly to the Mayor of Kane Borough. Minimum Qualifications
* Pennsylvania MPOETC Certification at time of appointment
* Minimum 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in law enforcement preferred
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in budget preparation, policy creation, and scheduling
* Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver's License
* U.S. Citizenship
* No criminal record; must be willing to undergo an extensive background investigation Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
* Strong management and leadership ability with proven supervisory experience
* Knowledge of budgeting methods and municipal financial practices
* Familiarity with administrative practices and supervisory theory
* Considerable knowledge of traffic and criminal law, municipal ordinances and applicable federal laws
* Ability to enforce fair and consistent disciplinary standards
* Ability to make sound operational and emergency decisions
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing and executivelevel presentations
* Knowledge of municipal labor and pension laws as well as contemporary personnel regulations
* Proficiency in computer systems and familiarity with records management systems Ideal Candidate
