Job Description Summary: Requires surface treatment of a variety of metal parts by such processes as cleaning, stripping, pickling, sandblasting, de‑scaling, and passivation of metal parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to: Operates hydrofluoric‑nitric acid tanks. Operates sandblasting machines. Loads and checks racks for proper spacing in tanks and operates hoist or immerses parts by hand, when required. Cleans and checks for cleanliness and proper surface of a variety of ferrous and non‑ferrous metal parts. Varies immersion time, heat of solution, solution from established Manufacturing Process Data. Maintains tanks by draining and replacing new fluids and may maintain solutions by adding new solutions as directed. Requires ability to identify parts from blueprints or Manufacturing Process Data. Requires keeping of necessary records as required by Quality Control. Performs rework, repair and other associated operations about the work described. Follow all Senior policies and procedures. Other duties with the work as assigned. In addition to the above, Operators are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum (3) three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
