Processing Market Development Representative
In this role you will be the technical expert within the commercial organization. Partner internally across functions (i.e. R&D, Marketing, Sales etc.) to develop and execute go to market strategies and externally with key influencers and customers to drive the adoption of technology and our products. Share responsibility with Sales to achieve or exceed established regional and territory sales targets. MDR will lend technical expertise to demonstrate the value of our full portfolio and technical solutions to our partners and customers. This role covers the following territories, Lansing, MI, Northern Indiana (Gary, IN) or Northern Ohio (Toledo, OH).
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
Complete ownership of trialing/activities of phase 4B, 5X varieties in local territories also including market extensions.
Partner with local sales and research & development to build and execute territory plans for all trialing and demand generation activities;
Partner with sales and marketing to defend market share by using strategic trialing and data to position products properly to maintain share in the marketplace;
Support early Research and Development pipeline to enable knowledge transfer to Market Development on key varieties;
Integrate all testing and experiential data to successfully communicate positioning of products to both internal and external customers;
Digital use of data collection methods timely to disseminate to all stakeholders in real time;
Leverage internal and external networks to access marketopportunities/trends and additional technical information;
Provide technical support to the commercial organization in handling complaints, reviewing communications/marketing material and pricing exercise;
Responsible for training sales and marketing on positioning of all base, new variety introductions and market extension varieties;
Influences cross-functional decisions that achieve regional business success;
Manages regions business (business acumen) complexity by leveraging the experience and knowledge of peers in different geographies and functions;
Drives portfolio decisions and pipeline advancements through influence of segment leads;
Provides leadership of specific crop segments across team’s region and mentors others in Market Development
Provides practical recommendations to enhance product performance under varied production environments.
Share responsibility with Sales to achieve or exceed established regional and territory sales targets.

WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
Bachelor of Science;
The ability to convert data into practical knowledge and solutions for growers;
Demonstration of strong customer focus and sales orientation;
Strong written and verbal communication skills (Minimum 50% English written/verbal);
Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based environment;
Self-motivate and assertive with a results orientation;
Willingness to travel extensively in the territory and occasionalnational travel;
Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a drivingrecord background check.
Preferred:
5 years experience in agronomy, sales, field development or R&D related role.
Master of Science (3 yrs) or PhD degree (1 yr) in Plant Sciences or Agribusiness (agronomy, plant pathology, weed sciences or closely- related discipline) Agronomic knowledge of vegetable crop production.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $87,413.67 to $131,120.51. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
