POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the production schedule to ensure timely manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders. This role requires close coordination with production, procurement, engineering, sales, and quality departments to meet customer demand while maximizing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Utilize ERP system (Made 2 Manage) to develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems extensively to input, track, and report scheduling data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Understand and continuously improve scheduling functions within the ERP system to enhance production planning and workflow efficiency.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Work closely with production supervisors and floor staff to communicate schedules and resolve any production delays or issues.
  • Responsible for releasing jobs to production and creating job packets
  • Monitor production progress and update schedules as necessary to respond to changing priorities or disruptions.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to scheduling processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, changes, and outcomes for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling and workflow optimization.

  • Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company’s housekeeping policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in production scheduling, preferably in manufacturing environments (experience with hydraulic components or similar industrial manufacturing is a plus).
  • Must possess a high degree of computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems critical to managing production schedules and inventory workflows.
  • Experience with Made2Manage ERP system is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work cross-functionally.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instruction, correspondence and memos. Able to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) in order to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to management and company associates.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and/or percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Requires the use of disciplined problem-solving methods. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to react and respond positively to change.
