Title: Virtual/Remote Benefits Customer Service Representative
Location: Buffalo, NY.
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour for English Speaking; $17.25 per hour if fluent in Spanish
Schedule: Weekdays only, no weekends (must be open to work between the hours of 8am - 7pm)
The Role:
As a Seasonal Benefit Customer Service Representative, you'll assist clients with enrollment and updates to their health care or pension plans, working remotely to provide excellent service via phone, chat, and message center.
During peak season, expect a 40-hour workweek with potential overtime. Off-peak and initial training hours may vary between 32 to 40 hours per week based on client needs. High performers may receive full-time opportunities.
What’s a typical day as a Benefits Customer Service Representative You’ll be:
Build rapport quickly and respond to plan participants with compassion via phone, email, and instant messaging.
Customize your service approach to accommodate various communication styles and maintain professionalism during challenging interactions.
Handle confidential information with utmost sensitivity and adhere to HIPAA and Data Privacy laws.
Maintain accurate call and case notes in a professional manner.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in customer service.
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and organize work effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to manage multiple computer windows simultaneously.
Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
Comfortable working in a virtual environment within a 1-hour radius of Buffalo, NY.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Familiarity with health, welfare, and/or defined benefit pension plans.
Previous experience in a call center environment.
Proficiency in Spanish (read, write, speak).
