Minimum 1+ years orientation and mobility specialist experience required.
Qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialist needed to work with a supportive school in the Reno area. As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, you will work with individuals who are blind or visually impaired to help them achieve greater independence and quality of life by teaching them how to navigate their environment safely and effectively.
Job Details:
- Full Time
- Mostly elementary and middle school caseload
- Multiple locations - travel reimbursementsavailable
- Details on position will be discussed during virtual interview with district
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs and abilities of individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
- Develop and implement personalized orientation and mobility plans that address everyones unique needs.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Orientation and Mobility
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) or equivalent certification
- Experience working with individuals who are blind or visually impaired preferred
Pay and Benefits:
- Weekly Pay
- $35-$45 hr
