The Department of Mental Health (DMH), Southeastern Area, Pocasset Mental Health Center is seeking a dynamic candidate to serve as a Security Team Specialist (STS I). The incumbent will perform related law enforcement duties to ensure the safety and security of the institution and the population served. Monitor the safety of the facility by patrolling building, grounds and adjacent areas. Incumbent will enforce Massachusetts General Law, Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Laws, and Department of Mental Health Regulations and Policies.
Note: The selected candidate work schedule will be 40 hours per week on 3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:00am) with days off on Wednesday and Thursday. The primary work location will be Taunton State Hospital; this position will support all sites in the Southeast Area as needed.

The CC&I CMHC provides comprehensive services to adults and children. Programs include a 16-bed acute in-patient unit, Case Management, Day Treatment Program, and Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS). The CC&I CMHC is a Joint Commission certified facility. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have (A) at least one (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in work involving the protection and/or security of buildings, equipment or individuals, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Applicants applying for positions within the Department of Youth Services, Department of Mental Health and Department of Public Health are required to obtain and maintain a valid certification in CPR, AED and first aid. Additionally, applicants applying for positions within the Department of Youth Services are required to obtain and maintain a valid certification in crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
Substitutions: An Associates degree or higher in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor vehicle drivers license at a class level specific to assignment.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidates years of directly related experience and education. For bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
