Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to lead our estimating efforts on large-scale commercial drywall and framing projects. The Senior Estimator will oversee the bid process from start to finish, ensure accuracy in pricing, provide strategic input during preconstruction, and mentor junior estimators. This role is critical in helping secure profitable work and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate estimates for drywall, framing, and related scopes.
• Manage the full bid process, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, subcontractor/vendor pricing, and proposal preparation.
• Review and approve estimates prepared by junior estimators, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Conduct risk analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities, alternatives, and value engineering options.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid reviews.
• Support business development by providing pricing strategies and assisting in proposal presentations.
• Collaborate with project management and field teams to ensure a smooth project handoff, accurate budgets, and clear scopes.
• Maintain and update company pricing databases, productivity benchmarks, and cost history.
• Stay current on market trends, material costs, labor rates, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial framing and drywall
• Proven track record of successfully estimating and securing large, complex projects ($5M+).
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior team members.
• Expertise in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of labor productivity, production rates, and industry pricing.
