Position: Actuarial Analyst, NA FL Location: North American Financial Lines Pricing Department: Actuarial Role Overview: As a member of the actuarial team supporting the North American Financial Lines business unit, this individual will contribute to managing the portfolio strategy of the Financial Lines book. They will engage with Reserving, Risk Management, Finance, Claims, and Data & Analytics colleagues to achieve business outcomes and implement strategies. Responsibilities: Support profitability studies, price monitoring, planning, and new business analyses. Lead monthly and quarterly reporting, including renewal rate monitoring. Assist in portfolio monitoring, identify issues, discuss opportunities, develop action plans, and monitor their impact. Support the selection of loss ratios considering business strategies, market conditions, and reinsurance structures. Assist the Underwriting team with ad hoc requests such as account pricing, rating model support, and KPI summaries. Support the filings team with data and exhibits for rate filings. Collaborate with Data and Analytics colleagues to implement Power BI dashboards. Mentor a Year-Round Intern. Candidate Profile: We encourage candidates to bring their own experience and expertise. While certain qualifications are preferred, we are open to discussing how your individual knowledge can contribute to this role and our goals. Minimum Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in a pricing actuarial role, FL background highly desired. Progress towards Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society or relevant organization. Advanced Excel skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, and nested IF statements. Proficiency in SQL querying. Self-starter, proactive, quick learner, inquisitive. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to establish credibility with senior underwriters and leaders. Attention to detail and technically sound work. Timely delivery and effective prioritization. Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of Actuarial Methods, ability to estimate Ultimates from raw data. Experience querying complex data and building Excel tools. Role Factors: Show continued progress on actuarial exams. Work in the office 3 days per week. Occasional travel for business. What We Offer: Base salary in the range of $120,000 to $140,000 (NY).
