The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in full cycle accounting, working in multiple sets of books and must have CAM experience. You should have a strong background in accruals, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, intercompany accounting, audit support and real estate/lease accounting to be successful in this role.

This position is hybrid 3 days/week in Newport, Rhode Island.

Job Details:
Global company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in Real Estate and Finance. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's financial operations, providing vital support to our business's financial objectives. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will be responsible for preparing our company's financial reporting, analysis, general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and internal controls. Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, your primary duties will include:

1. Overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
2. Managing the company's general ledger and ensuring all financial data is accurate.
3. Conducting regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.
4. Forecasting revenues and expenditures and advise on budgeting processes.
5. Directing internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
6. Collaborating with management to define, analyze, and implement strategic financial processes and systems.
7. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
8. Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and completing the monthly budget variance analyses.
9. Developing and managing financial systems/policies.
10. Liaising with external auditors and tax agents.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position should possess the following:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the real estate sector.
3. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proficiency in financial reporting, financial analysis, managing general ledger, preparing financial statements, and implementing internal controls.
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
6. Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
8. Experience in MRI and Avid Exchange a plus
9. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
10. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
12. CPA certification or track a plus
