JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Shopper Marketing Merchandising Manager will be responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that drive shopper engagement and sales across various retail channels, inclusive of Grocery, Mass & C-store. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of retail customers and environments and merchandising best practices. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to create and implement disruptive merchandising programs for retail that align with our brand objectives and drive business growth.Responsibilities Include:Merchandising Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies to enhance shopper engagement, disrupt the shopper journey and drive sales growth. Analyze market and customer trends and competitive activities to inform merchandising plans. Create annual and seasonal merchandising plans that align with brand and business objectives.Retail Execution: Lead the development and execution of in-store merchandising displays, disruptive point-of-sale materials, and promotional signage. Develop retail customer playbook for marketing and sales to utilize for turnkey execution. Work closely with sales and retail teams to ensure effective implementation of merchandising programs. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.Analytics: Collaborate with shopper insights team to partner on insights and data analytics to inform merchandising strategies and optimize shopper experiences. Provide timely analysis of sales performance from merchandising vehicles to identify opportunities and challenges. Present insights and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with marketing, sales, creative services, sales operations, and supply chain teams to ensure cohesive and aligned merchandising strategies. Act as the primary point of contact for retail partners regarding merchandising initiatives and execution. Lead cross-functional meetings and project teams to drive merchandising initiatives forward.Budget Management: Manage the merchandising budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI. Track and report on budget performance, identifying areas for cost optimization.Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and agencies involved in the creation and execution of merchandising materials. Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of high-quality and disruptive merchandising assets QualificationsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in shopper marketing, merchandising, or retail marketing within the CPG industryDeep Understanding of Shopper Behavior: thorough knowledge of shopper marketing, behavior patterns, and decision-making processes. This includes understanding what influences purchase decisions, how shoppers interact with different retail environments, and the factors that drive brand loyalty and engagement. Expertise in Retail Environments and Merchandising Best Practices: in-depth knowledge of various retail formats (e.g., grocery stores, mass merchants, convenience stores) and the best practices for merchandising within each setting. This includes familiarity with planogram development, in-store display techniques, point-of-sale materials, and the latest trends in visual merchandising and retail technology.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
