American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter – Nashua, NH

About the Role:

Phaxis Education is seeking a dedicated ASL Interpreter to provide high-quality communication access and instructional support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This role plays a vital part in ensuring students receive equal access to education, classroom content, and social interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and professional ASL interpretation for classroom instruction, school activities, and related services
  • Support students’ understanding of academic content through clear, culturally appropriate communication
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to meet student needs
  • Assist in adapting materials and ensuring accessibility in line with IEP requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district, state, and professional standards
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment for students

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in educational settings preferred
  • Knowledge of educational interpretation practices and Deaf culture
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a team

Preferred Certifications:

  • RID/NIC certification or EIPA score
  • Educational Interpreter training or equivalent experience
