Skilled Trades Worker (Streets and Roads)

SALARY

The minimum salary is $21.168 per hour

This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.

Pay Grade 515

This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the required first six (6) months of employment.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to perform a variety of semiskilled duties in areas such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, painting, or drywall. Assists certified or licensed workers with their tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent


• Two (2) years of related experience


• Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in areas such as concrete, carpentry, or asphalt


• Assists certified or licensed workers with their tasks


• Maintains, services, and conducts repairs on buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds


• Operates trucks and assorted power equipment


• Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

• Valid Driver's License
  
  
  
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B within the first six (6) months of employment
  
  

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned and on emergencies.


• All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
