Responsible for assisting physician in scheduling surgeries and other related technical and clinical support as required

Position Responsibilities/Standards

General

• Attend department, clinic or company meetings as required
• Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns
• Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff members
• Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
• Attend required annual in-service programs
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all company policies and procedures.

Specific Duties

• Perform the duties of Surgery Scheduler to include:
• Conducting pre-op meetings with patients to complete all documentation and consents
• Educating patients as to procedure locations, time, and logistics
• Coordinating activities with ASC's and hospitals
• Conducting follow-up scheduling and physical therapy appointments
• Assist clinical team with coordinating and facilitating outreach to colleges, high schools, PCPs, professional teams and athletes
• Serve as a contact resource for trainers, coaches, athletes, and coordinators
• Assist with physical therapy requests, off-work requests, and school notes
• Facilitate scheduling of outpatient testing
• Maintain physician's schedules at participating ASCs and hospitals. Working closely with the outside facility coordinators
• Stay current on insurance guidelines and pre-certification processes
• Work with vendors to ensure coordination of surgical equipment and hardware
• Maintain current ASC and hospital consents, pre-op guidelines, and orders
• Manage all patient calls in a timely manner
• Work in multiple programs to coordinate surgeries, office visits and physician schedules
• Other duties as assigned
