We are seeking an experienced Trust and Estate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and challenging trust and estate matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our clients' estate planning needs, from drafting wills and trusts to advising on tax planning strategies.
Responsibilities:
As a Trust and Estate Attorney, you will be responsible for:
1. Drafting, reviewing, and amending a variety of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
2. Advising clients on the legal and tax implications of their estate planning choices.
3. Assisting clients with charitable planning, including establishing and managing charitable trusts and foundations.
4. Developing tax planning strategies to minimize estate, gift, and income taxes for clients.
5. Representing clients in probate court proceedings and trust administration matters.
6. Keeping up to date with changes in tax and estate planning laws and regulations.
7. Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure the highest level of client service.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. A Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
2. An LLM in Tax or equivalent advanced legal degree.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Trust and Estate Attorney.
4. Extensive knowledge of estate planning, trust administration, probate, and tax law.
5. Proven experience with charitable planning and tax planning.
6. Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
9. Membership in good standing with the state bar.
