Job Summary :
The Unloader is responsible for retrieving and loading product racks into the unloader lift, maintaining the Tetra Pak Cardboard Case Packer, and ensuring that packages are properly oriented and free from damage. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. The Unloader will collaborate closely with team members to support smooth operations and product integrity, as well as troubleshoot any issues that arise during the unloading process.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Product Handling :
    • Retrieve racks of product from the accumulator efficiently.
    • Inspect racks for any crooked or damaged packages before loading.
  2. Loading and Monitoring :
    • Load racks into the unloader lift, ensuring packages are oriented correctly with the bottoms facing the pusher arm.
    • Monitor the unloading process to ensure smooth and accurate unloading of racks.
  3. Tetra Pak Maintenance :
    • Operate and maintain the Tetra Pak Cardboard Case Packer, performing routine checks and adjustments as necessary.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues with the Case Packer to ensure consistent performance.
  4. Quality Control :
    • Identify and remove any damaged or leaking packages during the unloading process.
    • Collect product samples and retort tags for quality control, ensuring all associated paperwork is accurately signed.
  5. Troubleshooting :
    • Effectively troubleshoot issues that may arise during the unloading process and Case Packer operations to minimize downtime.
    • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve operational challenges.
  6. Documentation :
    • Accurately complete reject tally paperwork for any rejected products.
    • Maintain thorough records of all relevant activities to support quality and safety compliance.
  7. Safety Practices :
    • Adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a secure working environment.
    • Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to the Production Supervisor promptly.
  8. Team Collaboration :
    • Assist team members as needed and contribute to a cooperative work environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to support overall production goals.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment is preferred; experience with Tetra Pak machinery is a plus.
  • Skills :
    • Strong attention to detail for accurate paperwork completion.
    • Effective math skills and basic computer proficiency.
    • Interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members at all levels.
    • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues effectively.
  • Physical Requirements :
    • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
    • Capability to push carts that may exceed 1,700 lbs in weight.
    • Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.

Working Conditions :

  • Environment : Work in a production facility with exposure to noise, fluctuating temperatures, and potential safety hazards.
  • Safety : Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory.
