Salary Range $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly
Description Job Purpose: The Van Driver is responsible for safely operating a transit van on a morning and afternoon schedule. The Driver must ensure that the transit van is always in good operating condition; pick up and drop off students as per the schedule and assigned route(s); maintain order and security on the van; and obey all laws, regulations, and rules of conduct.
- Operate the transit van in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your van and report discrepancies.
- Drivers are responsible for keeping their van clean, fueled and in good working condition. This will include communication with the mechanics on maintenance issues and schedule cleaning.
- Ensure the van is safely and securely stored.
- Attends training programs, meetings as required.
Qualifications Education And / Or Experience - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with good public relations and customer service
- Valid class D driver's License with good driving record; favorable background check
- The ability to obtain a commercial driver's license
