Herbein + Company, Inc. is actively seeking an Audit Intern to work approximately 32 - 40 hours per week in our Audit Department for Summer 2026 (June through August). During this internship, you will receive training, generous pay, the opportunity to work with experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience and insight into the public accounting world. Internship opportunities are available in the following locations: Allentown & Reading

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Record audit test work and documentation under the supervision of a lead auditor
  • Assist with general ledger accounting and reconciliation
  • Works with lead auditor to ensure compliance with corporate and industry standards
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness
  • Collaborate with other audit team members regarding improvement opportunities during the audit process
  • Trace entries to original documents or sources
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related area of study as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Prior accounting internship experience in tax or audit preferred
  • Must exercise complete confidentiality
  • Adept at meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail focused and driven to achieve high standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work additional and non-traditional hours as required to meet client requirements
