Job Description

MAJOR FUNCTION

The primary responsibility of a Scheduler is to develop and manage a project schedule. The process includes defining project tasks, estimating the resources needed, and creating an effective timeline. The Scheduler will track project progress, identify potential delays, and work with project team to ensure the projects remain within scope. The Scheduler will be part of the QC team.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base line, status, and perform measurement baseline.
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports.
  • Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Frequent on-site visits to review construction progress.
  • Periodic schedule updates (monthly)
  • Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects.
  • Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.
  • Monitor potential scheduling problems.
  • Maintain accurate records/paperwork.
  • Scope of work will include but not limited to: Mobilization, Temporary facilities, Erosion & Sediment controls, Excavation, Dewatering, Environmental Monitoring, Cutoff Wall, and Backfilling.
  • Perform additional assignments per Supervisor's direction.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • The scheduler is required to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in scheduling and have previously developed, created, and maintained at least 2 electronic schedules for projects similar in nature and complexity to project assigned.
  • The scheduler is required to be experienced in the use of scheduling software that meets the requirements of this contract and is used by the Contractor. Including Primavera P6 and RMS
  • Experience with contract modifications, delays, REAs, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with vendors, management, and other coworkers, both individually and in front of a group
  • Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential
  • Sitting for extended periods of time is common
  • Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though exertion of up to 25 pounds of force may occasionally be required
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculator, copiers, and fax machines
  • Good reasoning ability is important, must be able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business
  • Primarily a site position. Site visits and field project visits are required. Travel to offices and projects in various locations around the country as needed. The following physical activities are often, but not always, associated with site visits:

- Must be able to stand or walk on a project site for extended durations

- When on project sites or if performing some types of work or activities, must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: earplugs, protective eyewear, gloves, hard hat, steel-toed work boots, and high visibility safety apparel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job is primarily performed outdoors on a construction site and the location may vary due to company needs.

May have a main office but spend most of their time in a field office onsite, where they monitor projects and make decisions about construction activities.

The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associate with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary.

· Job site environment, including, but not limited to, machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes

· Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions

· Uneven ground
