Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Family Advocate, where you will play a crucial role in supporting families and children within our community. Our organization is committed to empowering families by providing essential services and fostering leadership. As a Family Advocate, you will be instrumental in building family partnerships, facilitating parent meetings, and collaborating with community partners to enhance family well-being and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit and enroll families and children into our programs.
  • Establish and maintain strong family partnerships.
  • Facilitate parent meetings and promote family leadership.
  • Provide referrals and follow-ups to support family self-sufficiency and well-being.
  • Collaborate with community partners to deliver support services.
  • Conduct home visits with families and participate in occasional evening and weekend events.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of Family Development Credential (FDC) within one year of employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Preferred: Family Development Credential or degree in human services or related field.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Preferred: Experience in the human services field.
  • Able to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds.

Special Working Conditions

  • Exposure to inclement weather and noise.
  • Use of electronic equipment such as computers, printers, and cleaning equipment.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality required.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, drug screening, physical examination, and TB test.
