Join our dedicated team as a Family Advocate, where you will play a crucial role in supporting families and children within our community. Our organization is committed to empowering families by providing essential services and fostering leadership. As a Family Advocate, you will be instrumental in building family partnerships, facilitating parent meetings, and collaborating with community partners to enhance family well-being and self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities - Recruit and enroll families and children into our programs.
- Establish and maintain strong family partnerships.
- Facilitate parent meetings and promote family leadership.
- Provide referrals and follow-ups to support family self-sufficiency and well-being.
- Collaborate with community partners to deliver support services.
- Conduct home visits with families and participate in occasional evening and weekend events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of Family Development Credential (FDC) within one year of employment.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Preferred: Family Development Credential or degree in human services or related field.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Preferred: Experience in the human services field.
- Able to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds.
Special Working Conditions
- Exposure to inclement weather and noise.
- Use of electronic equipment such as computers, printers, and cleaning equipment.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality required.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, drug screening, physical examination, and TB test.
