Location: Remote or Hybrid

• Due to the nature of our projects, U.S. or Canada Citizen is required
• Florida or East-coast Preferred

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Experience Level: Level 2 or 3 (Mid-Level)

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Range: $30-$50 hourly

• Eligible for overtime

What Youll Do:

Youll be a key player in designing intuitive, delightful gameplay experiences within Unreal Engine 5 , particularly for an upcoming Meta XR game. This role focuses on hands-on design, Blueprint scripting, and player interaction.

• Plan and lead design and development of new gameplay features
• Prototype and iterate core mechanics, player inputs, and in-world interactions
• Shape moment-to-moment player experience, from layout to logic
• Collaborate closely with artists, engineers, and creative leads
• Contribute to VR/XR gameplay design, UI/UX flow, and interaction tuning (primarily for Meta Quest)
• Operate well in often ambiguous design choices, balancing deadlines and shipping features
• Help drive delightful game design decisions for a cozy, lifestyle driven game
• Help refine game design documentation

What Were Looking For

• Unreal Engine 5 experience is a must. Unfortunately we are not looking for Unity developers at this time
• Shipped at least commercial game in a game design role within the last ten years
• Experience in XR, especially Meta Quest APIs a big plus
• Strong skills in Blueprint scripting
• Understanding of game systems, player behavior, and feedback loops
• Excellent collaboration and communication across disciplines
• Comfort with fast iteration, playtesting, and polishing
• Self-driven with strong communication and collaboration skills. As a WFH business we value individuals who are on top of communication daily.
• Preference given to candidates in the Orlando or Central Florida region.

Bonus:

• Experience designing for Meta Quest or similar XR headsets
• Experience in Free-to-Play or In-App Purchasing game design a plus
• Familiarity with Blender or 3D layout tools (for level blocking or spatial design)
• Experience in interactive storytelling, theme parks, or location-based entertainment
• Passion for cozy, clever, or emotionally resonant games
