Job Title: Instrument Calibration Technician
Location: North Chicago, IL

Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire, Onsite

Pay Range: $35.00 - $38.00/hour (W2 w/full employee benefits)

Work Schedule: First Shift, Monday - Friday

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Instrument Technician to service, calibrate, and maintain a broad range of equipment and instruments, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and GxP standards.

Job Duties:

  • Perform calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting on various instruments and equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with approved procedures, measurement traceability, and documentation standards.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in assigned measurement disciplines.

  • Communicate status, issues, and corrective actions clearly with team members and customers.

  • Maintain safety compliance and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support team collaboration and build effective working relationships.

  • Pursue ongoing technical and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in engineering, science, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred), or equivalent technical experience.

  • 3–5+ years of calibration experience using precision standards and measurement techniques.

  • Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and thermodynamic principles.

  • Experience with measurement uncertainties, statistical process control (SPC), and metrology software.

  • Proficiency in multiple measurement disciplines and familiarity with metrology principles and systems.

  • Industry experience in healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, or related fields is a plus.
